Plate & Kettle Plate & Kettle

Terms of Service

Effective October 28, 2026

Plate & Kettle gives general meal-planning, nutrition and training guidance for healthy adults, and it is no substitute for a doctor or a registered dietitian. You own what you put into it. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time.

1. Using Plate & Kettle means you accept these terms

These terms cover the Plate & Kettle app for iPhone, its web version, its beta builds and this website. By using any of them you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Plate & Kettle.

2. Plate & Kettle is not medical care

Plate & Kettle is not a doctor, a dietitian or a nutritionist, and it doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Its targets, menus, training plans and the AI coach's answers are general guidance based on what you enter. Check with your doctor before you change how you eat or train if you have a health condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of disordered eating, or take medication that affects your appetite, weight or blood sugar. Stop any exercise that causes pain, dizziness or shortness of breath, and get help.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13. If you're between 13 and 17, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and you shouldn't use Plate & Kettle to run a calorie deficit without a doctor's guidance.

4. Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us at support@plateandkettle.com if you think someone else has used it. One account belongs to one person. You can delete your account at any time with Delete My Account in Settings.

5. Paid features

The beta is free. If Plate & Kettle offers a paid subscription, the app will show the price, any free trial and what the subscription adds before you buy. Subscriptions bought through the App Store renew automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Apple handles billing and refunds under its own terms. Whether or not you subscribe, your history stays yours to see and export.

6. The AI features can be wrong

Ask Your Coach, photo reading, recipe import and the meal planner use an AI model to produce answers. Those answers can contain mistakes, including wrong numbers. Check anything that matters to you, especially calories and ingredients you're allergic to, against the label or the source. Don't rely on the AI for medical questions. Daily limits apply to the AI features and may change.

7. Food and nutrition data

Food values come from the United States Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central, from Open Food Facts (an open database maintained by volunteers, licensed under the Open Database License), from manufacturers' published labels and from what you enter. Products change and databases contain errors, so no number in Plate & Kettle is guaranteed exact. Read the label when it matters, and always for allergens.

8. You own your content

Your recipes, notes, photos, menus and logs belong to you. You give Plate & Kettle permission to store, sync, process and display them only to provide the app to you. Recipes you import from other sites are for your own use, and you're responsible for having the right to import them.

9. Stores and delivery services are separate businesses

Kroger, Instacart, the meal-delivery services Plate & Kettle can compare against, and any store you shop at are independent companies with their own terms and prices. Prices in Plate & Kettle are estimates and may differ at checkout. We don't sell their products and aren't responsible for their service.

10. Things you agree not to do

  • Copy, reverse-engineer or resell the app, its recipes or its food database.
  • Scrape the service or use automated tools against our server or the AI features.
  • Try to get around the daily AI limits, another account's security, or our server's access rules.
  • Use Plate & Kettle to break the law or harm anyone.

11. Beta builds

TestFlight builds are unfinished. They may have bugs, change without notice, or stop working when the beta ends. Export your data now and then if you'd hate to lose it. Feedback you send us may be used to improve Plate & Kettle without any obligation to you.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Plate & Kettle and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or the safety of others prevents it. You can export your data before an account closes.

13. Warranties and liability

Plate & Kettle is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to Plate & Kettle is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

14. Governing law

The laws of the State of Michigan govern these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you and we both consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here takes away a consumer protection right the law of your own state gives you.

15. Changes to these terms

We'll post any change here with a new effective date, and the app will tell you about a material change before it applies. Keep using Plate & Kettle after that and the new terms apply.
